Diphenhydramine and its effects
Diphenhydramine helps with sleep and allergy relief, but long-term use can cause confusion, dizziness, and memory problems, especially in the elderly. Some studies also suggest that it may affect kidney function.
Medications like Tylenol PM, including this over-the-counter sleeping pill, are not meant to be taken daily. Their sedative effects can quickly turn from beneficial to harmful.
